Resulting in many people pushing their doubts down and ignoring them. In reality, our concern should be about gaining control of our doubts. We need to take control of doubt before we can eliminate it.

As a small child learning to read, I remember that whenever I could not recognize a word, my mother would say, “Sound it out .” Then, after sounding it out, she would say the word to me so I could hear how the individual letters went together. A Love Story!

An older man was arrested for shoplifting. At the court, the judge asked him what he had stolen. “A can of peaches.” the man responded. “How many peaches were in the can?” asked the judge. “Six,” answered the man. The judge thought for a moment and said, “I will sentence you to six days in jail.” Before he could complete the sentencing, the man’s wife asked if she could speak. Expecting that she would say something in the man’s defence, the judge said, “Certainly. Please go ahead.” “Well, your Honour, she said, “He also stole a large can of peas.”

Drunk Test

A police officer pulls over this guy who’s been weaving in and out of the lanes. He goes to the guy’s window and says, “Sir, I need you to blow into this breathalyzer tube.” The man says, “Sorry, officer, I can’t do that. I am an asthmatic. If I do that, I’ll have a bad asthma attack.” “OK, fine. I need you to come down to the station to give a blood sample.” “I can’t do that either. I am a hemophiliac. If I do that, I’ll bleed to death.” “Well, then, we need a urine sample.” “I’m sorry, officer, I can’t do that either. I am also a diabetic. If I do that, I’ll get really low blood sugar.” “All right, I need you to come out here and walk this white line.”

“I can’t do that, officer.”  Why not?” “Because I’m drunk.”

Awesome!

The CBC reported that ultra-marathoner Dave Proctor, 41, set a cross-Canada speed record on July 21 when he arrived in Victoria, British Columbia. Proctor, of Okotoks, Alberta, set out from St. John’s, Newfoundland, 67 1/2 days earlier, running an average of 66 miles per day. “I feel like I’m on top of the world,” Proctor said upon his arrival. “I’ve just seen the most beautiful country in the world.” Proctor ran through 12 pairs of shoes and consumed 9,000 calories per day. “Cinnamon buns and scones, I’m still not sick of it,” he said. Achieving his “lifelong dream” came on his second attempt; in 2018, he succumbed to a back injury after 32 days of hitting the pavement.

“I can’t do that, officer.”  Why not?” “Because I’m drunk.”
